Coronavirus Services Update

Dear Bridge Family,

I’m sure that all of you have been hearing about the extreme precautions that are being taken in California, the United States, and around the world, with regards to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). In response to this, the leadership of The Bridge has put together an emergency response team so that we can properly provide as much protection as we can for the people in our congregation.

This emergency response team met this morning to discuss a public statement put out by Governor Gavin Newsom last evening, Wednesday, March 11th. In short, this statement by the Governor, citing local health experts, has determined that gatherings with 250 people or more should be rescheduled or canceled. Smaller gatherings can proceed if organizers implement 6 feet of social distancing. The full statement can be found by clicking on this link –

Based on the determinations of this communication we have decided to make some fairly extreme precautionary changes to our church gatherings. We will continue to monitor the health recommendations daily to determine additional changes. With this in mind, please continue to fully read and follow the communications we will send as often as is necessary.

Worship Service Schedule Changes:

This Sunday, March 15th, our 9:00am Worship Service will be available as a livestream from our website ( While there will be limited seats available in the Worship Center, Burch Hall, and the K Building, we are recommending that people stay home and participate in the Worship Service via the livestream. Please note that there will be NO Bridge Café, NO Childcare/programs of any kind, and NO Sunday School Classes (ABCs).  Also, as determined by Governor Newsom, any people who attend the service must maintain a social distancing of 6 feet between each person. Because of this, seating restriction we will not be able to accommodate as many people. Once again, while you are welcome to attend according to these restrictions, we strongly suggest you consider staying home and watching on the livestream. Next week we will determine the schedule for Sunday, March 22nd.

LIFE Group Schedule Changes:

All LIFE Groups that meet on campus will be cancelled until further notice. It is also our recommendation that all LIFE Groups that meet off campus cancel their meetings through at least the end of March. If a LIFE Group chooses to meet, they must be willing to abide by the determination of Governor Newsom and keep each person 6 feet apart.

Wednesday Evening Events (Youth, Bible Explorers, Hispanic Service):

All events on Wednesday evening at The Bridge will be cancelled through at least the end of March.

Bridge Builders Sunday

Unfortunately, this event will be postponed.

Other activities meeting at The Bridge:

All other events that meet at The Bridge will be cancelled through at least the end of March.

Other Things to Know About:

In our facilities: We are increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting. This includes high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, handrails, water fountains, etc. We are posting hand-washing signs in every bathroom throughout the campus.

In support of your personal health and hygiene: We have ordered hand-sanitizing machines for many of our building exits. Unfortunately, we are waiting for the liquid which is currently back ordered until the end of March. Please do not feel any compulsion to shake hands, hug, etc., if you choose to come to the Worship Service.

Giving: While we have limited ability to meet, the church still has the same financial obligations. Please click here to continue to give online and set up regular or repeat giving. Or if you choose to give by check please send it to The Bridge Bible Fellowship, 18644 Sherman Way, Reseda, CA 91335. You can also go to The Bridge Bible Fellowship website. Locate the Donate Online button to give and set up regular or repeat giving via Elexio Giving.

As we do our part in following the directives of trusted health authorities, we ask that you join us in the following:

Pray. Prayer is powerful, and God is our perfect source of comfort and care. Join us in praying for both the people and regions affected, and for the protection of our nation, community, and church.

Prioritize your personal health. Continue following the good health guidelines outlined by the CDC ( and

If you are sick, or you suspect you might be getting sick, please remain at home and join us online to view our Worship Service –

Prevent stigma. In stressful times, fear, anxiety, and misinformation can result in the harmful stigmatization of people thought to be infected. Coronavirus does not discriminate, and neither should we. Show compassion and support for those who are ill or fearful of becoming ill.

Let’s remind ourselves of important truth from God’s Word. In these anxious days, the church can shine as a light of hope, care, faith, patience, and prudence, demonstrating for the world how our faith provides true assurance against worry and fear. Jesus gives us comforting words in Matthew 6.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body… Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” Matthew 6:25–27

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the church office at 818-776-1500.

May God bless you and your family as you pray, trust and do your best to be a light in this dark world!
