Bridge Family Update #3 - The Bridge Bible Fellowship

Bridge Family Update #3

Good Morning Bridge Family,

I hope that everyone is staying healthy and hopeful during this challenging time that we are experiencing. Like many of you, Susan and I have not left our house for many days, except to go for a short walk in our neighborhood. And while it is nice to be at home, we definitely miss the joy of being together with friends and family.

Face to Face

As a substitute for being together with people I have been using a technology called, “Zoom.” If you have never used Zoom before, it is like FaceTime on steroids. It allows many people to view and speak to each other over the computer and mobile phone. This week, I had a church staff meeting with 16 people, and I had several other meetings with smaller numbers of people. I also met with my Life Group over Zoom on Thursday evening with 13 people.

While this sort of meeting is certainly NOT the same, or even a perfect substitute for meeting together in person, it truly is better than having no face contact at all. There is something about the way that God has made us (in His image), that we long to see each other’s faces. There is an intimacy that takes place when we see someone’s face and they see ours.

Look at these two verses from the Bible that express the value of face to face contact.

“Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.” (Exodus 33:11)

“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” (1 Cor 13:12)

And so, for now, I am grateful that the Lord has given us the blessing of technology that allows face to face interaction, even while we are miles apart in our different homes.

What about you? Have you been able to connect with other people? At The Bridge we have a number of Life Groups and ABC classes that are meeting together via the Zoom technology. You can check out the options on our Live Resources page under the section called Discipleship Opportunities for Adults. –

Livestream Again

Tomorrow morning at 9:00am we will once again be worshipping the Lord together, not in person, but via Livestream. You can click on the link below to join us as we praise the Lord through song and we learn from the powerful preaching of His Word –

What about Good Friday and Easter Sunday? (April 12th)

Based upon the instructions from Mayor Garcetti a couple days ago, we will continue to have these social restrictions until at least April 19th. This means that our plans for Good Friday and our Easter Services will all be changed. Unless there is a change in these restrictions we will not be holding in person services for Good Friday or Easter Sunday. More than likely we will have another Livestream service on Easter morning. We will send you more details about this next week.

Mayor Garcetti’s latest announcement can be watched here –

Assistance Needed?

If anyone needs assistance with anything while you are staying safe at home, please do not hesitate to call the church office at 818-776-1500. If you leave a message someone will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also email us at

And don’t forget to keep looking at our Live Resources page for updates on various helpful links.

Let us keep praying for each other and trusting the Lord. We KNOW that He has promised to never leave us or forsake us. What a GREAT promise that is!

Until we see each other again, face to face,

Pastor Randy
