Alexey Sherin – Krasnoyarsk, Russia 3rd Quarter 2017 Report  Greetings to you, the Church of Jesus Christ, peace and grace be to you from the Northern lands! God continues to have mercy on us and to keep us safe, for which we praise and glorify Him. Several things for which we want to thank God more and more I want to share with you. First of all, it is a wonderful celebration of Harvest, which we had in our church. The service went really well, we had quite a number of people, and some came for the first time! I have noticed a long time ago that in spite of all the uniqueness of Northern life (people regularly move in and out, and the population of Norilsk is declining with each year), the church … [Read More...]

Seven words about The Word

Seven words about The Word The Word is pure and forever settled in heaven, so continue to believe it absolutely and rest on it confidently. The Word is of transcendent value and eternal significance, so continue to esteem it highly and magnify it greatly. The Word is living and active and powerful, so continue to approach it humbly and proclaim it boldly. The Word is Spirit-breathed and of no private interpretation, so continue to study it diligently and expound it correctly. The Word is the sole foundation for wisdom and truth, so continue to let it dwell within you richly and love it passionately. The Word produces reverence for God, the highest virtue, so continue to read it … [Read More...]

News From Brazil

When I was appointed as Director of Converge Member Care about 5 months ago I made it a goal for my first year to participate in the best preparation programs available. March and April were very significant months for Debra and me as we completed two significant training experiences for member care. The first was in Colorado Springs, at Missionary Training Institute. There we participated in the Consultation on Debriefing and Renewal, a week-long workshop designed to train facilitators in how to guide personal debriefing and renewal as a routine part of any cross cultural worker’s ongoing development. That was followed by some meetings in Orlando with the Converge Directional Leadership Team as the … [Read More...]

Randy’s Top 10 List: Financial Giving

Please read through all 10 of these amazing truths from the Bible that you may never before have understood.  It's in the Bible. In the Old Testament Law, God commanded families to give back one-tenth (10%), a tithe, to the Lord. But this was not a new practice. Abraham tithed in Genesis 14:19-20. Jacob tithed in Genesis 28:20-22. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus rebuked the Pharisees saying about tithes, "These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others (meaning justice and mercy)." The concept of giving at least 10% is littered throughout the Bible.  It honors God. Jacob said to the Lord, "And of all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you." Jacob understood that all that he received was from the Lord. He gave a full … [Read More...]

Greetings From Pastor Paul!

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. The Lord smelled the soothing aroma; and the Lord said to Himself, "I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease." (Genesis 8:20-22 - NASB95) If you missed it, we had a FANTASTIC evening together on Wednesday (6/14) at our first "Summer Nights at the Bridge." We had a wonderful time of fellowship over dinner and then my friend Scott Klusendorf gave us … [Read More...]

News From Europe

Dear Friends, One of the principal tasks and privileges in church planting is to dedicate much time to evangelism. The Lord continues to respond to your prayers for open doors for the gospel. In the last few weeks we have been able to host various people in our home, including our neighbors Fabrizia and Elena, Stefano and Laura (the owners of the hamburger shop near our church), and Gianni, the furniture salesman. In each case, the Lord opened up some very clear opportunities to discuss the gospel and to challenge their way of thinking about the world. We were also encouraged as it seems in each case, the door remains open for future opportunities. Please pray for their salvation. We are also excited about a door the Lord has opened … [Read More...]

News from Bridge Youth

Jimmy and I have been very excited about all that God is doing in youth ministry. We had a great time at Pine Summit in Big Bear for our youth winter camp in the beginning of March. God did a great work in the lives of students and volunteers that weekend. We have continued to see God strengthening the relationships between staff and students within the youth ministry and we are excited to continue to develop deeper relationships with students where discipleship can happen naturally. We recently had a service day for our youth where six teams of students and staff spread out in the valley and spent a few hours doing yard work for various members of our church. It was a wonderful time to be able to serve members of our church. We would … [Read More...]
