Serving in Albania

Ministry Focus: Pastoring a house church and ministering
to the Roma Gypsy people

Ministry Overview

God is at work through the Schoch family as they minister as church planters to the Roma Gypsy community in Tirana, Albania.  They live in a home that is in the gypsy community, hoping to encourage depth in relationships and more opportunity for the gospel to spread.  The hope is to see a church started based upon several home cell groups.  They are seeking God in prayer to raise up five Gypsy men as core group leaders.  Men are not only the strong rule-makers of this society, but in an area so ravaged by drugs, alcohol, and spousal abuse, it is rare indeed to find a decent male role model.  As they live among the people they are ministering to they desire to be a model of Godliness in word and deed.

Prayer Requests
  • Pray for the Lord to open the spiritual eyes of Beni, Njola and family to truly be opened to understand the gospel message, repent and turn their lives to Christ.
  • Pray for Julee’s ladies group to produce the fruit of a deepened walk in the participants and an expanding of the Kingdom in our neighborhood and among relatives of these Roma women.
  • Pray for wisdom and directions for us and our teammate Don Z. as we attempt to put together a plan for a business / training center to augment the church planting goals of our team among the Roma.
  • Pray for wisdom for our team as we integrate a new family, the Dills, into our church planting venture.  They arrive at the end of February and begin shortly thereafter with the language learning process.
