Ministry Focus: Church Planting in Geneva

Ministry Overview

Church-Planting in Geneva (2007-present).  John pastored in Paris from 1986-1996 and in Geneva from 1996-2007. In June 2007, I left The Eglise Evangélique Action Biblique church to start a new church in Geneva, l’Eglise Evangélique Internationale de Genève (www.eeig.ch). We are currently meeting at the Ramada Hotel.

Radio: I have a local weekly radio program in French called “Plus Précieux que L’Or” where my weekly sermons can be heard in full (Sunday at 2:15 p.m. on Radio 74 in Geneva on FM 88.8 – www.radioomega.fr/site/emission/172/rendez-vous-avec-john-glass.html).

Books Written: I have authored two books, 9-11-01 Pourquoi? (9-11 Why?) on the Twin Towers tragedy in New York, and Une Réflexion Chrétienne Sur La Guerre (A Christian Reflection On War), a look at what the Bible says about war.

Hockey Chaplaincy: In 2002, I was asked to be the chaplain for the Geneva-Servette Hockey Team (NHL equivalent). I lead Bible Studies for the players and made myself available to them at a personal level. This ministry received much publicity in Switzerland at first – including multiple magazines articles and a full-page article in the main Geneva newspaper, and a full TV report on the Swiss nightly news. Why? Because this chaplaincy makes me the first professional sport chaplain in the history of Switzerland.
